Tanzania communities are on the frontline of climate change. Erratic rainfall, soil degradation, and deforestation threaten food security and livelihoods. ECOWEF works with communities to restore ecosystems and adapt to a changing climate.
What we do
We establish community tree nurseries, run reforestation programs, protect watershed areas, and educate communities on climate-smart agriculture. Our approach is always community-led and locally owned.
Key activities
- Tree nurseries producing indigenous seedlings
- Watershed and soil restoration projects
- Climate-smart agriculture training
- Environmental education in schools
